Google announced new tool to find product information online in India.
This Shopping tool scans millions of Indian Web pages and extracts product names, prices and images. Using this new tool, Google users will receive information from more than 30 thousand Indian Internet sites and be able to research a variety of products online.

Universal Mobile Telecommunications System(UMTS)

Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) is one of the third generation (3G) mobile telecommunications systems. UMTS offers the user full interactive multimedia communications, information and entertainment services with speeds of up to 2 Mbit/s, comparable with the current fixed networks. Evolutions of UMTS will make even higher transmission speeds possible.
In UMTS there are four different kinds of services defined. Each with it's own quality of service:

2.5G Generation of Mobile Communication

2.5 Generation System is used to describe 2G-systems in packet switched domain capable of packet-data services and data rates that range from 20 to 40 Kbps, such as GPRS in GSM and the data capabilities in cdmaOne. These capabilities are not high enough to meet the requirements for 3G systems.

2G- Second Generation of Mobile Communications

2nd generation is based on digital circuit switched system. Systems provided voice and a limited data capacity of 9.6 to 14.4 Kbps. 

Systems use digital signaling to connect the radio towers (which listen to the handsets) to the rest of the telephone system. It is significantly more efficient on the spectrum allowing for far greater mobile phone penetration levels, voice quality compared to 1G System

The 1st generation was analogue, datacommunication was not possible and the ability to use a mobile abroad was limited.G, which stands for "first generation," refers to the first generation of wireless telecommunication technology.
1st generation mobile telephony systems operated in the 450 MHz and 900 MHz frequency bands. The main difference between two succeeding mobile telephone systems, 1G and 2G, is that the radio signals that 1G networks use are analog, while 2G networks are digital.

Analogue Signals

An analogue signal is a signal that varies continuously in both time and amplitude (strength). The variation in time is commonly expressed in the frequency (tone) or frequencies the signal is composed of.
The unit of measurement is the Hertz, or cycles per second. An analogue signal can be e.g. an electric signal that comes out of a microphone.
The opposite of an analogue signal is a digital signal, which is discrete in both time and amplitude. An Analog-Digital Convertor (ADC) is needed to convert an analogue signal to a digital signal.
The term analogue is also used to refer to devices or circuits which handle analogue signals. The output of an analogue device varies as a continuous function of the input.

The first generation mobile communications systems (1G) were analog.

Configuring Linux for Oracle

Verifying System Requirements

To check the amount of RAM and swap space available, run this:

    grep MemTotal /proc/meminfo

    grep SwapTotal /proc/meminfo

The minimum RAM required is 1024MB, and the minimum required swap space is 1GB. Swap space should be twice the amount of RAM for systems with 2GB of RAM or less and between one and two times the amount of RAM for systems with more than 2GB.

You also need 2.5GB of available disk space for the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 software and another 1.2GB for the database. The /tmp directory needs at least 400MB of free space. To check the available disk space on your system, run the following command:

  df -h

Create the Oracle Groups and User Account

Create the Linux groups and user account that will be used to install and maintain the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 software. The user account will be called oracle, and the groups will be oinstall and dba. Execute the following commands as root:

    /usr/sbin/groupadd oinstall

    /usr/sbin/groupadd dba

    /usr/sbin/useradd -m -g oinstall -G dba oracle

    id oracle

Set the password on the oracle account:

       passwd oracle

Changing password for user oracle.

    New password:

    Retype new password:

    passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.

Create Directories

Now create directories to store the Oracle Database 10gRelease 2 software and the database files.

The following assumes that the directories are being created in the root filesystem. This is done for the sake of simplicity and is not recommended as a general practice.

These directories would normally be created as separate filesystems.

Issue the following commands as root:

    mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle

    chown -R oracle:oinstall /u01/app/oracle

    chmod -R 775 /u01/app/oracle
